    Beyond business, he has emerged as a significant voice in American politics, influencing public opinion and advocating for causes that are near and dear to his heart.

    Few political shifts in recent American history have been as swift and significant as Elon Musk’s. Once seen as a climate-conscious philanthropist supporting candidates across the political spectrum, he has emerged as a leading figure on the American right, embodying the ideological core of a new techno-populist movement. 

    With vast wealth, control over a major social media platform, and a clear intent to challenge governmental norms, Musk now presents himself as a conservative populist—upholding many traditional values while actively working to dismantle entrenched power structures.

    While addressing his supporters to vote for him in the 2024 American presidential elections, Trump is reported to have referred to Musk as a ‘new star’ flagging the partnership between the two.

    The transition from a former president to a Trump campaign backer provides a clear advantage, transforming them into one of the richest men in the world—characteristic of a prominent future politician.

    Elon Musk’s Path: From South Africa to International Presence

    Elon Musk was born in 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa, and had early entrepreneurial potential. At the age of 17, he relocated to Canada and subsequently enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania to study economics and physics.

    In 1995, Musk and his brother co-founded Zip2, a software startup that gave him his first significant commercial success. After Zip2 was acquired by Compaq for around $300 million, Musk had the funds to start his next endeavor.

    Tesla: As of today, the company has managed to establish itself as the number one electric vehicle thanks to executives such as Musk aiming the company towards this vision.

    Neuralink: Human Intelligence Synched together with Artificial Intelligence, the goal of this project is quite clear.

    The Infancy of Online Payments with PayPal

    Musk was a co-founder of X.com in 1999, an online payment firm that merged with Confinity to become PayPal. Musk made $165 million when eBay purchased PayPal for $1.5 billion in 2002. Musk was able to begin his ambitious ventures, such as SpaceX and Tesla, with this acquisition.


    Tesla: Pioneering the Revolution in Electric Vehicles

    With models like the Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y, Musk not only popularized electric automobiles but also made them mainstream.

By the 2030s, Musk hopes to have the first human landing on Mars and build a colony there.     Neuralink: Connecting Artificial Intelligence and Humans


    When Neuralink implanted its first human patient at the beginning of the year 2024, the world witnessed a quadriplegic playing online chess and moving a cursor on a computer screen with his mind.

    However, the novelty of the idea has since evolved into a clinical reality: the number of human trials has increased, and FDA approved Neuralink’s trial for restoring vision and speech.

    The current rate of development of brain-machine interfaces (BCI) at Neuralink sets a new standard for medical science as we move towards the year 2026.

    Key Advances and Human Trials of Neuralink BCI (2024-2026)


    From Controlling a Cursor to Building Virtual Objects: After the first participant Noland Arbaugh showcased the world how he played chess in 2024, the second participant, Alex, demonstrated a more complex use of the Telepathy implant.

    Together with the mouth-controller, Alex was able to play first-person shooter video games and use 3D computer-aided design software (Fusion 360) to invent physical objects.


    Scaling Human Trials Across Continents: The PRIME study has moved beyond the borders of the United States to medical centers in the United Kingdom, Canada, the Middle East, and most recently – the United Arab Emirates (Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi).


    More Than 20 Human Subjects are Able to Navigate Computer Cursors and Robotic Arms by Mid-2026: In mid-2026, more than twenty patients participated in clinical studies across the globe. Moreover, the CONVOY study announced that the subjects managed to navigate computer cursors and robotic limbs.

    Meanwhile, Neuralink received FDA Breakthrough Designations for restoring vision and speech.

    Restoring Vision and Speech in Patients With Blindness and Locked-In Syndrome


    Neuralink moved beyond video games and digital design to develop treatments for patients who have lost eyesight or the ability to speak.
    Blindsight – Restoring the Lost Sense of Sight: Neuralink’s treatment for blindness was granted FDA Breakthrough status.

    A special implant, which bypasses the optic nerve and directly stimulates the visual cortex, enables the blind to see. According to Musk, the restored vision may start as seeing pixels, but later it could allow the patients to see beyond the visible spectrum, including infrared and ultraviolet light.


    VOICE – Giving Voice to the Voiceless: Similarly to how the visual cortex processes information, VOICE implant could allow patients who have lost vocal cords, suffered from ALS, or spinal cord injury to communicate by reconstructing their neural signals. The trial for the development of voice in patients with disabilities was also granted FDA Breakthrough Designation.

    Robotic Surgeries and Hardware Developments


    Neuralink made considerable hardware developments, including a robotic system that implants micro threads near the patient’s vessels. Researchers also finalized some technical details, such as adjusting the mechanism to prevent the threads from provoking inflammatory responses.

    For reference, the company’s quarter-size “Link” chip includes 3,072 threads that can sense individual neuron pulses without damaging brain tissue. The new robot-assisted surgeries replaced manual ones, accelerating the process and preparing Neuralink for large-scale commercialization of its brain implants.

    Elon Musk’s Grand Vision: Human Brain as an Upgraded Version of Simulated Reality


    While the short-term goals of Neuralink focus on helping the disabled regain autonomy, Elon Musk envisions a bigger role for the technology. It, in fact, reflects his concerns about humanity’s future in the context of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

    AGI represents a hypothetical form of AI that can perform any intellectual task that a human can do. Simply put, AGI will be substantially more capable than humans in terms of cognitive abilities. In Musk’s opinion, human brains need to be upgraded because they are too slow for AGI.


    The Tertiary Layer Concept and the Need for Speed: Elon Musk has outlined the necessity for humans to interact with AGI at a level beyond the capabilities of the primary and secondary layers of the nervous system. The tertiary layer refers to the high-bandwidth connection of the digital version of the human limbic system and cortex.

    It would allow humans to communicate with AGI directly and, in a sense, merge with artificial intelligence. Thus, Musk predicted that symbiosis with AGI would enable humanity to harness the power of advanced AI while still maintaining individual autonomy.

    Starlink: Internet Access in Distant Places

    Another SpaceX project, Starlink, uses hundreds of low-orbit satellites to deliver high-speed internet to underserved and distant regions worldwide. This technology has been very helpful in emergency situations and war areas, increasing the availability and resilience of internet service.

    The Boring Company: Tunnels Under Ground to Fight Traffic

    The Boring Company was established in 2016 with the goal of using subterranean tube networks to reduce traffic congestion. Musk’s dedication to urban innovation is demonstrated by the limited implementation of his Loop subterranean transportation system concept in Las Vegas.
